PROFESSIONAL CARNIVAL GAMES
FOR
RECOMMENDED AGES 6 AND ABOVE with Music played while games are in
session. We have included some dance songs like cotton eyed joe,
cha cha slide, ymca in our assortment of songs played.
We offer the Most DIVERSIFIED ASSORTMENT of Carnival Games
available for your party. Fun for kids and adults. We usually bring
a minimum of 24 games to any Carnival Booking.
We bring a minimum of 8 games as an add on to regular DJ functions
or dances when needed.
At least seventeen games are being played at one time (we have our
own helpers if needed).We switch and bring out 7 different carnival
games half way between the time booked. Usually 17 games are played
during the 2 hours, with the capability of playing 24. The norm is
17 games. Games move quickly & children can pick any line to go
on, children win coins and turn them in at end of day to get
prizes. Can set up to (24 games) at one time providing there is
ample room and 2 MONTH advance notice. Adults can play too. Usuall
setup is 17 games, than we switch games with new ones. Actual play
time. 2 HOURS. Approx. 80 kids can play at a time. Children must
take turns playing games if there is a person waiting after them in
line.

- How long have you
been in business?
Since 1995, family owned and operated. This is our full time occupation. - What is One Call, One Contact, One Contract?
- If you do several things at a party, for example, you want a dj, a clown, the hall to have the party at, cotton candy machine. You can get this all through Music N' Motion with the one call, we will hire and plan the entire party, so instead of signing a contract yourself with each individual form of entertainment and everyother detailed event at your party. Just sign one contract with us, we will contract the entertainment and other services for you under our contract, and we will be the only one you need to call. Tell us your budget, what you would like to have at your affair, type of affair, and we will manage everything accordingly.
Who will show up at my event?
Always person listed on contract, Mike Malone. Mike Malone may bring an assistant or family member to help if he deems needed. But Mike Malone will always be the one to show up.
We have one primary DJ, Mike Malone. If we are booked up, we can refer another company. The other company would not be affiliated with Music N' Motion so you would have to sign THEIR contracts and go by there terms. They may give you a discount if you mention our name.
What if my Mike Malone gets sick?
Kathleen Malone or family member in business with previous experienced would take over. Has never happened since 1995, but we are prepared.- We can do several jobs per day, but only one job at a time. We also have other back up companies if needed in EXTREME EMERGENCY.
- This has
never happened yet.
How old is Mike Malone? Born 1959.
Has children born 1988, 1990 and 2001, so he is always informed on the different styles of music by his own children and afterschool events. Wife born 1967. All family members are experienced when asked to help at their positions.
Do we need to sign a contract for bookings? Yes, we do not perform without a contract and usually require a small non refundable deposit.
How many songs do you have?
Over 45,000 (new songs added each month) All styles fo music. From the 1940's to Todays top hits.
and 12,000 Karaoke songs. New songs are added weekly, we play only clean versions of songs. All songs have been legally purchased by CD or Itunes and transformed to laptop wave format. Each 4 hour party consists of approximately 80 songs. Out of the 1000's we have, it is assured we will have something to make your party a success.
What are the cost for your private parties?
Please check prices listed above. We list everything in detail (unlike other djs), prices are upfront. Please note, all prices are always subject to change!- You will be able to find less expensive DJ's and more Expensive DJ's, we are probably somewhere in the middle regarding pricing/
- However, the level of excitement and dances we can teach and perform and knowledge of what and when to play are unmatched, these are some of the reasons your party will be REMEMBERED.
- Is it cheaper if we
pay with cash?
No....check or cash would be the same. We do accept Pay Pal if needed for a $20 additional charge AND would need to know in advance of writing contract..
Our prices are non negotiable. We do not take credit cards. We only take Money orders, checks or cash only. All of our customers get treated equally and discounted the same.
$30 additional discount if paid in full within 7 days of the return of the contract. All parties require a contract.
Do you give discounts or do free charities?- *Military
Discounts $30-must be notified in advance of signing
contract.
*First Responder Discounts $30-must be notified in advance of singing contract. - We have lowered alot of prices since Sept. 2011. If you have an old brochure you can see the lower cost on certain parties and themes.
- We now give the same discount to everyone, we DO NOT DO FREE charities but would also give a ligitimate charity a $30 discount also.
- We treat
each company and individual the same as we feel our prices are very
reasonable and our service unmatched.
Prices listed have all ready been discounted from previous years.
Some prices may have increased, but the majority of party types
have decreased.
Can you hold a date for me? - 3 days by
phone, but we can only hold a date for 7 days once a contract is
sent out. After that we need a minimum $75 deposit to hold most
dates with the return of a contract. No refunds on deposits, unless
otherwise specified in writing. Some parties may warrant a higher
deposit. $150 deposit to hold wedding date. $300 deposit for
Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.
What kind of music do you play?
We can play ALL kinds of music as long as they are clean edits. Sometimes a person might ask for a song, even though we can get it, if there isn't a clean version available of the song we will not play it.
What age group do you perform for? - Ages 6 to 101. We do not perform for children under 5 years of age. All children under 5 must be watched by an adult and supervised near our equipment, are parties and prizes are not intended for children under 4 years of age.
- Can we come see you
at a "live" event?
Only if event is open to public. We do not invite other people to private parties and will not invite uninted guests to your party either.
Sorry, no party crashers of any kind. We base our bookings on "word of mouth advertising" or by people that "have seen us perform" or by "on line email testimonials". However if we perform at an open function such as a local community open to the public dance than of course you can see us, but sorry no private affairs.
- Do you bring party motivators?
- Only in a rare occassions, Bar Mitzvahs only, sometimes. We ARE the party movitators. We will play all the popular dances and songs. We will offer to teach the poplular dances and try to persuade everyone to join us. But we can get you up to dance. Basically if they are invitided to a party, and we are playing good dance music and offering our help, it takes two to make it work, they need to also have a little motivation on their part. We ever rarly need outside help with addtional motivators. The DJ should be able to motivate on their on, and are usually just charging you extra money for bringing in other people. But again aside from taking your hand, the guest should know they are coming to a party and also have some motivation within themselves.
Is there a video of your performances of parties you have done for promotions?
Sorry, we do not put out videos. We rely again on "word of mouth advertising" "people that have seen us" and our on line "testimonials". We do not want other companies to see our videos and take our ideas, so we do not send anything out. We are very unique in our approaches even to simple dances such as the "chicken dance" and do not want to give away any information to other companies. And to make videos would increase our overall price of parties being booked because of production to make and ship.
- Can we meet you in person?
- Yes and No, Really no need to!
Here is why.
In todays society, anything that needs to discussed or even shown can be done via, email, i'm, web site, or telephone. We respond within 24 hours to all inquiries. You can contact us as much as possible, but there is really no need to meet. You can see us at any open dance event to public. - We will not show or tell you anything different by meeting in person that we couldn't do by phone or email.
- And to see what we look like please check some of the photos from above. If you really needed to meet in person we would charge an in person consulting fee in addition to the party fee. Meetings took place long ago before web sites and computers made communication easy and quick. But to prepare for an in person meeting just does not make logical sense when we really can go into detail about anything you may need to know. We are trying to save you money and don't want to charge a fee to meet.
- All of our bookings are by word or mouth or by people that have seen us perform. However, we do understand your concerns, call us, we will answer anything you may need to know.
- Do you contact us phone to confirm booking?
- No, our contract is our confirmation that we will be there. You can contact us prior to if you would like to confirm, but we will be there.
- Can you give me a
list of references to check out?
Yes, we can email you a list with comments of what they said. We have alot of references for all types of parties we have done. - You can
contact them directly through emails. These references sent us
their responses to our parties without being asked to do so. So
they are very genuine.
How soon do you arrive prior to each show? Normally 30 minutes to 1 hour prior to each show, depending on type of show and the set up we need.
Do we have a specialty?
Yes we can teach over 300 dances.
We are extremely knowledgable in all genres of music. We are very interactive and witty, and we offer many different services as noted through our web site. - We don't just sit there and hit the play button, we interact with the crowd, we teach them the dance. And we mix beats and do not play the same continous beat throughout the party.
- Do you use
computers or cds, turn tables?
Computers, we have many back up systems.
All music has been purchased.
We use all professional equipment and have backup equipment for each job. We have 3 systems that we can bring. - If you don't have a certain song and I have it on my IPOD, would you play it?
- Yes, as
long as lyrics are clean.
With kids and adults playing carnival and golf games collecting and returning balls and coins can germs be spread?
**We disinfect all game coins, balls, golf clubs and holding utilities and wipe down all games with a disinfectant spray and cloth after every booked carnival or golf event.**
- Why don't you play the game "Coke & Pepsi" ?
- I have
seen kids get hurt doing this game, plus we have other creative
games and over 100 different contests we can perform"
But what if we wanted to meet? - Price for private meetings would be $75 per half hour,, 1/2 hour meeting minimum. You would not lose this money if you booked us, it would be applied to the booking.
Can I chose the music for my party?
Yes, we encourage you to. We put requests sheets out at each party for your guests to write down their favorite songs. All songs must be clean edited versions and fit in with crowd.
- Do you have lights for club type atmosphere?
- Yes, we have lights that move to beat of music. Enought lights to make it look like a disco/dance club. We do not use smoke machines or bubbles because alot of establishments will not allow it.
Do you give out prizes?
Yes, for contests that we perform, we include the prizes in the original price.- We do not give out inflatable objects because people (children) usually just wind up hitting each other with these objects.
- We can
actually put out real instruments for them to play around with,
bongo drums, tamberines, maracas and real microphones.
Who controls the volume of the music?
You do! If it is to loud or low we will adjust to your preference. - What would be your weakness in the music business as a DJ?
- Not really a weakness, But we don't play extended long mixes, we play what you hear on radio. We don't play continous same beat music, we mix it up.
- We are not CLUB DJ's with those extended mixes. All versions are radio edits and normal playing time versions of songs.
Do you sit or stand while DJing? We sit while playing music (we use lap top), but get up numerous times to teach dances and perform contests. No single DJ is as interactive as we are, again we can teach over 300 dances and can perform a lot of different contests and games.
- Did you teach Lawrence Taylor of the New York Giants and performer on "Dancing With The Stars" any dances as promoted through your company?
- Yes, I taught Lawrence Taylor and Wrestler Bam Bam Bigelow 2 dances at a wedding they were at. Laurence Taylor was the best man at the wedding.
- I taught him the "Two Step
and Barn Dance" The reception of the wedding took place on a cruise
ship and went around the New York City Harbor in the late
1990's.
We were not allowed to take photos or get autographs per our contract with the Groom. Were not allowed to really talk to them but I was able to get him up to dance as per my contracts.
Do you offer video or photography services?
Yes, call for Video and Photography information, it is booked through a 3rd party. We only work with the best in the business. We will give you there number, just say we referred them.
Are you insured?
Yes we are fully insured as well as registered with the state as a business and incorporated as a company. We belong to an organization called N.A.M.E
(National Association of Mobile Entertainers).-
Can you stop children from running around?
-
We cannot stop children from running around, we can only control the music, give the children the oppurtunity to dance most of the party and compete in the contests. It is the parents job to watch their own children and let them know what acceptable behavior is required at a social function or if at a school function there must be assigned parents, teachers or counslors to make sure children do not run or leave the premises. We will give them every chance to dance, but during non dance related songs, dinner, when people first arrive or quiet time or speeches, it is the responsibility of the adults in the room to make sure children behave and act accordingly, we provide music and entertainment but not baby sitting type services where we have to explain how to act or behave . Some type of supervision is mandatory and must be controlled by the adults in order to allow us to do the job we were hired for, which is play music and perform contests. Adults also must make sure nobody touches our equipment or person(s) or comes behind or under our tables. We can all have a great time through music, games and activities, but any unruly or disrecpectful children must be confronted by other adults in the room so that we may focus on what is at hand and get the next song ready and keep the event rolling smoothly. Children should be forementioned that the place where the dance is being held is to dance and NOT RUN, that the GYM or CAFE is being used as a dance hall. Music N' Motion is not responsible Children leaving the premises, bathroom activity or running of any kind. We will play all the dances they know and encourage them and reward them for doing so, but we cannot stop the running or misbehavior, any surrounding or assigned adults most take responsibility for their own kids actions and those that may run over or hurt another child. This policy takes effect from the moment we start till the moment we end. No DJ in the tri state area can do more dances or contests as Music N' Motion, we never need help with our music or dancing, but would need help if someone is being disrespected, running, touching our equipment or just generally unruly, at that time we would expect an third paryt adult to step in and help with the situation so that we may proceed with the party.
Are you lisenced by BMI, ASCAP?
No, mobile DJ's are not required to have a lisence for private parties. Any place that hires us (the venue) is required to have a lisence if open to the public. Most of our jobs are private functions and not even open to public, like weddings, sweet 16's.
What type of speakers and mixers do you use? Which one's will you bring to my party?
It is Music N' Motions discretion as to which speakers would be best suited for the type of party you are having. All of our speakers are professional speakers. We bring back up speakers, mixers and computers to each party. We can play any size gym or large block party.
